Nadege & Gergely’s International Wedding in Budapest
Matthias Church, portraits around the city and a celebration aboard Spoon Boat
Nadege and Gergely were wonderfully at ease in front of my camera. They posed, joked and showed their affection with a confidence that gave the photographs a touch of cinema. Their humour was as much a part of the images as their elegance.
My team and I photographed and filmed their wedding in Budapest, with family and friends travelling from around the world to join them. The day brought together a ceremony at Matthias Church, a creative session through the city and an evening aboard Spoon Boat.
A Walk Through Budapest with the Family
During our creative session, we walked through central Budapest, making the streets and buildings part of the photographs and film. Nadege and Gergely enjoyed playing to the camera, moving easily between a composed portrait and a joke.
Their relatives also became part of the session, appearing in the scenes around them. These images brought the family into the couple’s portraits and preserved something of the shared experience of exploring the city together.
I particularly enjoyed the combination of style and playfulness. It gave us room to create photographs with a strong composition while keeping the couple’s personalities visible.
A Wedding Ceremony at Matthias Church
Nadege and Gergely chose Matthias Church for their marriage ceremony. Its historic interior provided the setting as they exchanged vows, surrounded by the people who had travelled to celebrate with them.
The ceremony added a more solemn chapter to the day. Alongside the couple, we documented the family and friends gathered in the church, keeping the people present as part of the wedding’s story.
Dinner and Dancing Aboard Spoon Boat
The evening celebration took place at Spoon Boat Restaurant on the Danube. Dinner, music and views across the river brought everyone together in a setting closely connected to Budapest.
The party carried the couple’s energy onto the dance floor, with family and friends joining in the celebration. The city remained in the background as the attention moved between the people aboard.
The photographs and Wedding Highlight Film bring these different parts of the day together: the ceremony at Matthias Church, the playfulness of the city session and the evening on the Danube.
Nadege and Gergely, thank you for bringing so much personality to the day and for inviting us to be part of it.
