A Unique Indian-Vietnamese Wedding in the Heart of Europe
We had the honor of capturing Shalaka and Nam’s vibrant two-day Indian wedding in Budapest through both film and photography. The couple lives in London, but since Nam grew up in Hungary and his parents still live here, they chose the beautiful Budapest as the venue for their celebration. The flawless planning was orchestrated by Kisfaludy-Tóbel Nóra – Cinderella’s Day.
Getting Ready with a View of the Danube
Both mornings began at the elegant Marriott Hotel in a suite with panoramic views of the Danube. We documented the details: intricate jewelry, traditional Indian and Vietnamese outfits, and joyful moments with family and friends. Nam played pool with his friends while Shalaka’s family helped her dress – these candid, emotional moments added soul to their wedding video and photo collection.
Day One – A Colorful Indian Celebration at Kopaszi Dam
The first day was all about Indian traditions. The Kopaszi Dam, surrounded by lush greenery, hosted a vivid celebration with henna art, painting corners, games, ice cream stands, and popcorn carts – a real visual feast. We started the creative photo and film session at the Marriott terrace, and followed the couple as they traveled across the city in a tuk-tuk, pausing along the Danube for romantic shots.
Dancing, Music, and Joyful Performances
Family and friends surprised the couple with dance and song performances in true Indian fashion. Shalaka and Nam also took the stage with their own choreographed dance before the entire crowd joined in for a massive party.
Day Two – Romantic Ceremony Overlooking the Buda Castle
The official wedding ceremony took place on the Marriott terrace with the Danube and Buda Castle in the background. A close friend officiated, making it a heartfelt and intimate experience. After the ceremony, the couple changed into traditional Vietnamese attire for family group photos on the terrace.
Emotional Speeches and a Night to Remember
During dinner, touching speeches were delivered by loved ones, followed by the couple’s first dance and an unforgettable night of celebration. In a separate room, we recorded surprise messages from friends and family – heartfelt interviews that were later woven into the final wedding video.
Tradition Meets Bold Elegance
This wedding was an extraordinary blend of culture, emotion, and fun – a truly modern yet deeply traditional celebration. It was a joy to create this wedding video and wedding photo collection for Shalaka and Nam, who gave us a story we’ll never forget.
