An intimate civil ceremony in Budapest, followed by a wedding overlooking the sea

Anna and Gabor celebrated their marriage in two places: Budapest, where they gathered their closest family and friends for a civil ceremony, and Sorrento, where the celebrations continued overlooking the Italian coast.

My team and I accompanied them for both parts, creating photographs and film that follow their story from the city views of Budapest to the sea, lemon trees and evening light of southern Italy.

A Civil Ceremony at the Budapest Marriott Hotel

Their civil ceremony took place at the Budapest Marriott Hotel, with views across the city. The gathering was intimate, bringing the people closest to Anna and Gabor together for this first part of their wedding.

Photographing the family was an important part of our time there. Alongside the ceremony itself, we documented the moments they shared with their relatives and friends, giving this chapter of the collection a personal, familiar atmosphere.

Beginning the Wedding Day at Villa Eliana

In Sorrento, we began photographing and filming early at Villa Eliana. With views towards Vesuvius and the island of Capri, the venue placed the surrounding landscape within the wedding from the outset.

The blue sea and lemon trees gave the Italian celebration its own character. After the Budapest ceremony, it was a pleasure to continue working with Anna and Gabor in a setting that offered such different possibilities for their photographs and film.

Later, we joined them for their ceremony, with the sea behind them and the light changing as sunset approached.

The open views and evening colours became part of the images, framing the couple as they celebrated with their family and friends. This was the moment when the preparations and the journey to Italy came together around Anna and Gabor.

Mediterranean Food, Dancing and Laughter

As the sun went down, the celebration continued with Mediterranean food, dancing and the laughter of the people gathered around them.

We stayed with the party, documenting the movement and enjoyment of the evening. Having accompanied Anna and Gabor from their civil ceremony in Budapest, we could bring both celebrations into the same collection of memories.
